Mujtahid: Journal of Islamic Legal Decision Sciences is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to redefining Islamic legal studies by shifting the focus from purely normative textual analysis to empirical, behavioral, and computational decision sciences. The journal examines how judges, regulators, arbitrators, policymakers, and legal practitioners make, evaluate, and implement legal decisions within Islamic economic and social contexts.
Mujtahid welcomes interdisciplinary research that integrates Islamic legal principles (Usul Fiqh and Maqasid al-Shariah) with modern empirical legal studies, behavioral law and economics, regulatory impact analysis, and legal technology. The journal focuses on evidence-based studies exploring dispute resolution mechanisms, Shariah compliance behavior, regulatory governance, legal design, and the digital transformation of Islamic legal systems.
The journal is strongly committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), encouraging research that demonstrates how evidence-based Islamic legal frameworks can advance sustainable practices, equitable governance, and human well-being.
